Young Expert Mission
What is a “Young Expert Mission” (MJE) ?
ISTOM's Young Experts Missions were created in 2010. They are organized into groups of 10 future engineers, whose expertise will serve an organization that works in the fields of agronomy, international development and ecology. The expertise for the sponsor is planned and prepared for 16 months, under guidance of ISTOM teachers. It is followed by an international field study of 4 to 8 weeks, which can be a project evaluation, an impact study, a preliminary study to the development of a product or a process, an environmental diagnosis, a feasibility study, or a market study, for example. It leads to the writing of a report and data production or a summary.
Our school
ISTOM is a French Engineering School in international Agro-development which was created in 1908. Its students are instructed for 5 years in tropical agronomy and environmental fields. This multidisciplinary training, unique in Europe, which leads to a diploma recognized by the CTI (French engineering commission), enables us to work towards the progress of developing countries and the conservation of ecosystems.

This could be, for example, non-governmental organizations, private companies, cooperatives, local authorities, research organizations, national parks, ministries, or regional councils, to name a few.
